The Roots
My inner landscape of "coming home" is the thread that runs through my work — a continual search for belonging and renewal. This emerges in ways that are uncanny or unsettling, reflecting the strangeness that accompanies the act of rebuilding. I explore these ideas through clay, paint, installation, and illustration.
I am drawn to the complex feelings that accompany building a home at any stage of life, both spiritually and emotionally. My practice has been rooted in the ties that once bound me, and the process of uprooting myself to begin again — a journey that is both personal and universal.
This has led me to a longing for the roots that came before, while simultaneously transforming the existing.
